Bloomberg Express 2016 is here again!
There is no doubt that the workforce landscape is getting more competitive today. Graduates are struggling to obtain their dream job and undergraduates are fighting for that prized internship position in reputable companies. Each individual is striving to set themselves apart to ensure that they have that extra edge over their peers. To obtain that dream job is important, however sustaining an employment is just as critical. Hence, it is essential that an individual seeks out the company’s culture before accepting a job offer.
The UCatalyst team went to uncover how Bloomberg operates at the Bloomberg Express 2016. Find out what the onsite recruiters have to say and what Bloomberg looks for as a potential candidate.

Bloomberg is a high tech, market moving, data driven, cross platform, information company designed to solve global problems.
What is the working environment like in Bloomberg?
Bloomberg believes in an open concept working environment where no one in Bloomberg has an office, which includes the CEO himself. This open door policy is to encourage communicate and facilitate the flowing of ideas. Additionally, Bloomberg has a flat organizational structure. They are very employee oriented and believe in putting people first. Bloomberg is also known to be a very fast paced company. Even though working at Bloomberg can be challenging, but the learning curve is very steep. This can be beneficial for people who are seeking to improve themselves.
What are the job opportunities that the Bloomberg has to offer?
Bloomberg offers a wide spread of jobs ranging from finance to media and technology. Everyone from various field of studies, interest and background will be able to find something attractive in Bloomberg. There is an upcoming internship opportunities which will be during the summer period from the month of April to August 2017.
What do Bloomberg look for in potential candidates?
Bloomberg wants passionate people. Apart from the normal academic requirements in most organizations, it will be good if the candidate has prior working experiences, which includes internship as well. They also take more notice at candidates who do co-curriculum activities, be it on campus or off campus that is related to his/her field of studies.
What went down at the event?
An e-interaction corner was erected for students to find out more about the careers that Bloomberg has to offer. Friendly onsite recruiters and interactive touch points such as iPads allowed students to gain insights about the organisation’s structure.

Vending Machines were stationed for students to win attractive prizes such as camera lens, bloomberg t-shirts and coloring books. To attain the prizes, students simply need to key in their name and school’s email address. This also allowed students to access Bloomberg’s job/internship opportunities updates.

There was also a food counter for students to indulge in crepes and ice cream while interacting with onsite recruiter.
